Riff-Based-Rock: that's the name of the game for this week's Heavy &
Unhealthy radio show guest band. Solarmonkeys, a four-piece rock band
hailing from Athens, Greece, came, saw, spoke, drank beer and conquered!
Fotis and Alex (guitar & bass respectively) joined forces and
unrolled their natural talent for conversation and tomfoolery for two
hours, during which, we discussed the band's history, their upcoming release & Solarmonkey's future plans for live shows. Those of you
situated in Athens, mark the date of April the 30th, for they will be
sharing the stage of AN Club with the likes of The Mighty N, Cellar Dogs
& Fool In The Box, where they will hopefully give us the secret for
a perfect kontosouvli...

Anestis & Kostis (guitar & bass respectively) from Biotech were
this week's guests in Heavy & Unhealthy. Words fail in terms of
defining the genre of Biotech's music, as it derives from many audio
influences, bands & albums. Biotech have already released their
debut album entitled 'Alive We Die' & are currently in the process
of producing their second full length release, due to hit the market
sometime before this summer. As always, eyes & ears open for news
& upcoming live shows regarding this unique group of musicians, for
they are cooking up lots of surprises!

Kicking off March with a very special show: 3Fold Pain joined me in our weekly 2-hour quest for heavy tunes. Effie, Anthony & Thodoris (bass, vocals & guitar respectively) not only kept me company for the night, but also carried a guitar and a percussion set to perform acoustic versions of a few songs from their latest full length release. Fans of Nu metal will rejoice with this one!
