I always enjoy having members of 1000mods visit me at the studio. This time the interview escalated to a full blown party! Lambros & Dani (drums & vocals/bass) brought with them Greg, their trustworthy roadie/tour manager/drummer-for-their-sworn-enemies and we were stuck for 2 hours in the studio, discussing 1000mods' latest release, entitled 'Vultures'. Along the way we were joined by the aforementioned eternal foes, namely Sadhus, as well as Jay by PoZ. Mods shed light into Vultures and their newly found label 'Ouga Booga & the Mighty Oug Recordings' and went the extra mile to share also some universal truths about life, friendship, love & scavenging. Southern sludge groovers Beyond Perception joined this weeks' Heavy & Unhealthy radio show. Although it just hit the stores, Anthem... has been waiting patiently inside some HDD for about 4 years! Lots of beer was consumed and stories about the band's 10 year course were confined! I've waited for 4 whole months to upload this here recorded radio show, long enough for Sadhus (The Smoking Community) to release their long awaited debut/self titled/masterpiece LP. These guys are no strangers to Heavy & Unhealthy radio-show, I always end up kicking them out of the studio, but they keep coming back! Stavros (vocals), Steve (rolling engineer), Thomas (guitar), Nick (bass) & Greg (drums) as well as Alex (meatbox neighbor) crashed the studio on April Fool's Day and we were stuck for two long hours inside a 9 square meters room. As always, bad luck keeps chasing these guys and the server crashed for an hour or so. Nevertheless, true fans stayed tuned for the whole 40 minutes of silence, only to be rewarded with the mellow (not) tunes of The Smoking Community. A big thanx to all the listeners and a bigger shout out to all fans of  sludge.

At it for quite some time now, this here band experiment on the edge of progressive metal & rock and have released their debut album entitled Human since February. Melodic & groovy, Human one could say is a concept album that has already caught the ear of Turkey Vulture Records and I personally hope we see and hear more of this here band, especially on a live-show basis (ya hear me Pandora's Box Booking?). Yesterday I've had the pleasure of welcoming to the studio 60% of a great Greek band, namely DreamLongDead. Giorgos, Giannis & Tassos (bass, vocals and guitar-vocals respectively) joined me for two hours, throughout which beer and tobacco smoke set the stage for some from-the-heart discussion regarding everything from the band's history and future plans, views on the present situation of the metal genre as well as some epic dissing! Being mere vessels of the Great Old Ones, DreamLongDead follow instructions from beyond as to what to write and how to play it. As for the rest, well, they just don't give a flying fuck. Fans of doomy death metal covered in shit can grab a spoon and help themselves...

Two days ago, I had the pleasure of welcoming to the studio a post-rock/trip-hop band called Blame The Trees. Natalia, Harris, Giorgos & Kyriakos (Vocals, Guitars, Keyboard & Drums respectively) kept me company for two hours, during which we played their debut album entitled 'Synapses' (self-released in 2013) in its entirety, plus an unreleased track in acoustic mode. If there's one thing to be said about these guys is that they are honest, modest and excellent interlocutors. Plus, their music rocks. OK, that was more than one thing, but there you go. If you like melodic and groovy tunes lead by enchanting female vocals, make sure you give this one a listen or two and follow Blame The Trees on their journey to greatness.

Apparently, all I had to do was make online threats during last week's interview with Blame Kandinksy and voilà: Marios, Kostas and Antonis (guitars/vocals, bass and drums respectively) joined me in a two-hour quest for knowledge and audiophilia, throughout which we talked about their debut EP entitled 'Yes Exactly, Maybe Not' (out for quite some time now and up for grabs), as well as their upcoming full length release (scheduled to be released sometime during Spring).
