Necropervert & Witchkiller (aka George & Kostas) joined forces and sat on the casting couch for two hours, throughout which they talked about their bands' past and present. A truly underground band, with no delusions as to who they are or what they like, Chainsaw talked us through their last release 'Hill Of Crosses' while laying out some rough outlines as to their future plans.
Make no mistake, this band kicks ass and just doesn't give a flying fuck as to what you think of them.

You have stumbled upon a recording of grave significance for the Heavy & Unhealthy radio show. Apart from the fact that we had the honor of offering our humble hospitality to Omega Monolith (a titan of a two-man-band) & that we were so fucking lucky to host an interview just before the release of their third album Fungus, we actually managed to pull off a live session featuring the aforementioned titan. Alex & Takis (drums and guitar respectively) were kind enough to talk us through their latest piece of soundscaping art and went the extra mile to grace us with 26 minutes of steaming live performance. If you ever miss an opportunity to catch the magnificent duo Omega Monolith live, consider yourself an idiot.

That was the second time we managed to host a radio show featuring Smoke The Fuzz Gigs. It was also the second time that Smoke The Fuzz Gigs chose to appear on radio. Well, you get where we' re going with this...
Elina, mastermind extraordinaire and sole culprit for whatever 's cooking inside StF's cauldron, spent 2 hours with the H&U crew, sharing thoughts and stories behind many live StF productions, featuring bands such as Yob, Dopethrone, Stoned Jesus and so on. She was also kind enough to let us into some future plans (sorry, no spoilers, listen to the show). It's always great to interview a person who literally takes it personally when it comes to planning, hosting & executing (flawlessly) a live production. Here's one band that's doing it right: Tardive Dyskinesia, the undisputed pioneers of Greece's progressive metal scene joined H&U in the meat market studio for 2 hours. Manthos & Steve (vocals, guitars & guitars respectively) sat on the casting couch and spent some quality time with the H&U crew. Seizing the opportunity that was the mini-tour for the 10 years of their debut album Distorting Point Of View (specially remastered just for the occasion), the guys talked on air about their future plans, the bands' history and their upcoming release, due sometime around September. Picking a band to break the cherry of interviews in the new H&U headquarters was an easy task. Planet Of Zeus were the first and only candidates. Jay & Stelios (bass & guitar respectively) were kind enough to consume anything and everything that was provided that day, while discussing their latest release entitled Loyal to the Pack, their 4th full length album, out now by ihaveadrum records. Beloved friends & Abhorrent foes,

after a year and a half of complete silence, we managed to get the show back on air. This time under the umbrella of Downtuned Radio, we relocated the studio at an old building located above the Central Meat Market of Piraeus. The new digs can easily host live sessions, as well as interviews, so we' re very excited about that! The building itself is the home for many Greek underground bands, so one can say that we're right in the hornet's nest. Below you may find the first 6 shows of the ongoing 5th season, but tread with caution, as they are full of mistakes regarding the sound of the microphones... trial & error guys is the hard road to perfection! This here is the last show of the 3rd season, and what better way to wrap it up, other than having good company to share the alcohol and the tunes. Hector and Chris (guitar and bass, respectively) represented their band, namely For A Dozen Matters at the Heavy & Unhealthy studio. We spent two hours talking about music, life and their latest release The Hell That Follows which is up for grabs at their bandcamp page. Death metal meets Rock 'n Roll meets booze. Fun times indeed!

This recording has been up on the Mixcloud for quite some time now, but was without a proper description and a tracklist. Since it's Mitsos' birthday today, I decided to properly tag & edit it, as a b-day present if you like. Pandora's Box has kicked off the season of 2015 with some serious gigs, so make sure you follow along.

S04E01

Season 04 - Episode 01 of the web radio show Heavy & Unhealthy (17.09.2014)

What seemed to be a promising start for the fourth consecutive season of the show, turned out to be  the gravestone for Radio Zografou. This one was recorded more than a year ago, it features Last Rizla (DIY masters extraordinaire) as a guest band and it's about their sophomore release 'Seamen'.
Choko, Kostis, Greg (Guitar, Bass & Drums respectively) as well as Orestis (all-around handyman) hang out with yours truly for more than 3 hours, during which we discussed the bands' history, the album in question &  their future endeavors.
This year-old recording marks the death of the Zografou Era, but also the birth of the Piraeus Era. Stay tuned, or -to be more specific- stay Downtuned for more.
