Here's one band that's doing it right: Tardive Dyskinesia, the undisputed pioneers of Greece's progressive metal scene joined H&U in the meat market studio for 2 hours. Manthos & Steve (vocals, guitars & guitars respectively) sat on the casting couch and spent some quality time with the H&U crew. Seizing the opportunity that was the mini-tour for the 10 years of their debut album Distorting Point Of View (specially remastered just for the occasion), the guys talked on air about their future plans, the bands' history and their upcoming release, due sometime around September. Picking a band to break the cherry of interviews in the new H&U headquarters was an easy task. Planet Of Zeus were the first and only candidates. Jay & Stelios (bass & guitar respectively) were kind enough to consume anything and everything that was provided that day, while discussing their latest release entitled Loyal to the Pack, their 4th full length album, out now by ihaveadrum records. Kicking off the 5th Season, episodes 01-06

Beloved friends & Abhorrent foes,

after a year and a half of complete silence, we managed to get the show back on air. This time under the umbrella of Downtuned Radio, we relocated the studio at an old building located above the Central Meat Market of Piraeus. The new digs can easily host live sessions, as well as interviews, so we' re very excited about that! The building itself is the home for many Greek underground bands, so one can say that we're right in the hornet's nest. Below you may find the first 6 shows of the ongoing 5th season, but tread with caution, as they are full of mistakes regarding the sound of the microphones... trial & error guys is the hard road to perfection! This here is the last show of the 3rd season, and what better way to wrap it up, other than having good company to share the alcohol and the tunes. Hector and Chris (guitar and bass, respectively) represented their band, namely For A Dozen Matters at the Heavy & Unhealthy studio. We spent two hours talking about music, life and their latest release The Hell That Follows which is up for grabs at their bandcamp page. Death metal meets Rock 'n Roll meets booze. Fun times indeed!

S04E01

Season 04 - Episode 01 of the web radio show Heavy & Unhealthy (17.09.2014)

What seemed to be a promising start for the fourth consecutive season of the show, turned out to be  the gravestone for Radio Zografou. This one was recorded more than a year ago, it features Last Rizla (DIY masters extraordinaire) as a guest band and it's about their sophomore release 'Seamen'.
Choko, Kostis, Greg (Guitar, Bass & Drums respectively) as well as Orestis (all-around handyman) hang out with yours truly for more than 3 hours, during which we discussed the bands' history, the album in question &  their future endeavors.
This year-old recording marks the death of the Zografou Era, but also the birth of the Piraeus Era. Stay tuned, or -to be more specific- stay Downtuned for more.

I always enjoy having members of 1000mods visit me at the studio. This time the interview escalated to a full blown party! Lambros & Dani (drums & vocals/bass) brought with them Greg, their trustworthy roadie/tour manager/drummer-for-their-sworn-enemies and we were stuck for 2 hours in the studio, discussing 1000mods' latest release, entitled 'Vultures'. Along the way we were joined by the aforementioned eternal foes, namely Sadhus, as well as Jay by PoZ. Mods shed light into Vultures and their newly found label 'Ouga Booga & the Mighty Oug Recordings' and went the extra mile to share also some universal truths about life, friendship, love & scavenging. This recording includes the Vultures release in its entirety plus a ton of useless/ful blabbering. Stay alert for an upcoming summer live by 1000mods somewhere near you...

Southern sludge groovers Beyond Perception joined this weeks' Heavy & Unhealthy radio show. Makis & Kostas (vocals & guitar) were kind enough to bring their latest release 'Anthem For The Wasted' so that we could explore it in depth. Although it just hit the stores, Anthem... has been waiting patiently inside some HDD for about 4 years! Lots of beer was consumed and stories about the band's 10 year course were confined! Ignore my fuck-up regarding the loss of half an hour of recorded material and enjoy yourself some Beyond Perception with a cold one in hand...

I've waited for 4 whole months to upload this here recorded radio show, long enough for Sadhus (The Smoking Community) to release their long awaited debut/self titled/masterpiece LP. These guys are no strangers to Heavy & Unhealthy radio-show, I always end up kicking them out of the studio, but they keep coming back! Stavros (vocals), Steve (rolling engineer), Thomas (guitar), Nick (bass) & Greg (drums) as well as Alex (meatbox neighbor) crashed the studio on April Fool's Day and we were stuck for two long hours inside a 9 square meters room. As always, bad luck keeps chasing these guys and the server crashed for an hour or so. Nevertheless, true fans stayed tuned for the whole 40 minutes of silence, only to be rewarded with the mellow (not) tunes of The Smoking Community. A big thanx to all the listeners and a bigger shout out to all fans of  sludge.
